These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Turkish Law Blog platform, including its website, content, directory, profile tools, blog publishing tools, career pages, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").
The Platform is operated by TLB Teknoloji Medya ve Danışmanlık Limited Şirketi, a company established in Türkiye, with its registered address at Merkez Mah. Akar Cad. I Tovvers Bomonti Blok No: 3/23 Şişli / İstanbul, and contact email info@turkishlawblog.com ("TLB", "Turkish Law Blog", "we", "us", or "our").
By accessing or using the Platform, creating an account, submitting content, applying for a profile, or otherwise interacting with the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
1. Scope of the Platform
Turkish Law Blog is a legal information platform that may include, depending on availability and approval status:
- public editorial and blog content;
- professional profiles and directory listings;
- user accounts and profile management;
- blog submission and publication tools;
- invitation and ownership claim flows;
- bookmarks and notifications;
- career pages and job application forms; and
- other content, tools, and services made available by TLB from time to time.
Some areas of the Platform may be publicly accessible, while others may require registration, approval, invitation, payment, or administrative review.
2. Eligibility
You may browse publicly available parts of the Platform without creating an account.
To create an account, submit content, apply for a profile, manage a profile, or use account-based services, you must:
- be at least 18 years old; and
- have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
Student accounts are also limited to users who are 18 years of age or older.
You may not create more than one account type for yourself unless TLB expressly permits it in writing.
If you use the Platform on behalf of a law firm, company, institution, or other entity, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to bind that entity to these Terms.
3. Accounts and Account Responsibility
When you create an account, you must provide accurate, current, and complete information and keep it updated.
You are responsible for:
- all activity occurring through your account;
- maintaining the confidentiality and security of your login credentials;
- ensuring that information in your account and profile remains accurate and current; and
- promptly notifying TLB of unauthorized access, misuse, or a security incident involving your account.
Because the Platform allows certain account and profile changes in sensitive account areas, you are responsible for all changes made through your account unless and until you notify TLB of unauthorized use.
Accounts are tied to the person or entity that registered them. However, where an account is used for a law firm, company, or other organizational profile, TLB may permit internal management, reassignment, or operational transfer within the same organization, subject to Platform controls, verification steps, or TLB approval. TLB may refuse or reverse a transfer where reasonably necessary for security, integrity, ownership disputes, or compliance reasons.
You must not impersonate another person or entity, use false credentials, or create an account using information you are not authorized to use.
4. Approval, Profiles, and Directory Listings
Certain profiles, listings, and publishing functions may be subject to review, approval, rejection, suspension, or removal by TLB.
For clarity:
- TLB uses an approval process, not a legal, professional, governmental, or bar-certification verification process.
- Any "approved" profile or listing means only that TLB has chosen to make the profile visible on the Platform based on its own criteria.
- Approval may depend on the submission of minimum required profile information and, for law firm profiles, completion of any applicable payment arrangements communicated separately by TLB.
- Approval does not mean that TLB has confirmed identity, bar membership, legal qualifications, licensing status, firm affiliation, accuracy, quality, competence, or suitability.
Inclusion in the directory does not constitute:
- endorsement;
- recommendation;
- ranking;
- guarantee;
- referral; or
- representation by TLB regarding any listed person, law firm, company, or service.
Profile owners are solely responsible for ensuring that their profiles, bios, logos, images, contact details, team information, qualifications, and other listing materials are accurate, lawful, non-misleading, and kept up to date.
TLB reserves the right, at any time and for any reason, to review profiles and listings, request supporting information, edit formatting, layout, categorization, or metadata, and refuse, reject, suspend, unpublish, or remove any profile or listing.
5. Blog Content and Editorial Submission
The Platform may allow certain users to draft, submit, co-author, or publish blog content, subject to approval and editorial workflows.
You remain the owner of content you create and submit, subject to the rights you grant to TLB under these Terms.
By submitting, uploading, drafting, publishing, or otherwise making content available through the Platform, you grant TLB a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, publish, display, distribute, index, promote, technically adapt, format, excerpt, archive, and otherwise use the content on and in connection with the Platform, social media, newsletters, marketing, editorial, research, reporting, and internal business purposes.
This includes the right to use excerpts, previews, snippets, metadata, and search-result summaries, and to make reasonable formatting or presentational edits that do not materially distort the core meaning of the content in bad faith.
If you request removal of content, TLB will use reasonable efforts to stop public display of that content within a reasonable period, while retaining copies that TLB reasonably needs for backups, system integrity, recordkeeping, legal compliance, dispute resolution, enforcement, analytics, or historical archive purposes.
TLB may reject, decline to publish, unpublish, edit, label, reformat, or remove content at its discretion.
6. User Content Warranties
You are solely responsible for all content, data, profile materials, biographies, firm descriptions, logos, images, submissions, applications, and other materials you provide through the Platform ("User Content").
You represent and warrant that:
- you own the User Content or have all necessary rights, permissions, consents, and licenses to submit it and grant the rights described in these Terms;
- your User Content is accurate to the best of your knowledge and not misleading;
- your User Content does not infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, contractual, or other right of any third party;
- your User Content does not contain unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, misleading, abusive, or infringing material;
- where your User Content includes personal data of another person, you have all legally required rights, notices, and permissions to provide it; and
- your User Content complies with applicable law, professional rules, and advertising or ethical obligations that apply to you.
7. Acceptable Use
You may use the Platform only in compliance with these Terms and applicable law.
You must not:
- violate any law, regulation, court order, or third-party right;
- submit false, deceptive, misleading, or fraudulent information;
- impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent affiliation, authority, or identity;
- upload or submit defamatory, abusive, harassing, hateful, obscene, unlawful, or infringing material;
- upload personal data, confidential information, or proprietary information of others without authorization;
- interfere with the operation, security, performance, or integrity of the Platform;
- introduce malware, malicious code, or harmful scripts;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data;
- use the Platform to send spam, bulk deceptive outreach, or misleading commercial solicitations; or
- circumvent Platform restrictions, review workflows, ownership controls, or security mechanisms.
8. Public Content, AI Accessibility, and Open Indexing
TLB recognizes that publicly accessible parts of the Platform may be indexed, processed, or used by search engines, crawlers, aggregators, and AI systems.
By submitting public-facing User Content or profile information to the Platform, you acknowledge and accept that such publicly available material may be accessed, indexed, analyzed, summarized, quoted, linked, or processed by third parties, including AI models and related systems.
Once public content has been accessed or copied by third parties, TLB may not be able to control or reverse all further uses outside the Platform.
Nothing in this Section authorizes conduct that is unlawful, deceptive, abusive, security-disruptive, or otherwise prohibited by these Terms.
9. No Legal Advice; No Professional Relationship
The Platform is provided for general informational, editorial, networking, discovery, and publishing purposes only.
Nothing on the Platform constitutes:
- legal advice;
- legal opinion;
- regulated professional advice;
- legal representation;
- recruitment or placement advice;
- a guarantee of outcome; or
- a recommendation that any user engage any listed person, law firm, company, or service.
Use of the Platform, viewing content, browsing profiles, reading articles, contacting users, or submitting information through the Platform does not create an attorney-client relationship, consultant-client relationship, fiduciary relationship, employment relationship, agency relationship, or partnership or joint venture with TLB.
TLB is not a law firm and, unless expressly stated otherwise for a specific service, is not acting as a legal advisor, recruiter, placement agency, or professional representative.
10. User Interactions and External Relationships
Any communication, engagement, instruction, negotiation, contract, or dispute between you and another user, listed professional, law firm, company, applicant, or third party is solely between those parties.
TLB is not responsible for:
- the conduct, competence, licensure, qualifications, availability, or acts of any user or listed profile;
- the accuracy or completeness of user-submitted profiles or content;
- any professional services or outcomes obtained through contacts made on the Platform;
- any negotiations, fees, retainers, hiring decisions, or engagements between users; or
- any loss, damage, claim, or liability arising from dealings between users and third parties.
11. Career Pages and Job Applications
The Platform may display career opportunities relating to Turkish Law Blog and may allow users to submit job applications.
By submitting a job application, you agree that:
- the application information you provide must be accurate and lawful;
- submission of an application does not guarantee review, response, interview, employment, or further contact;
- TLB may close, modify, suspend, or remove job listings at any time; and
- TLB may retain application materials for a reasonable period for hiring, recordkeeping, legal, and operational purposes, subject to applicable law.
Unless TLB states otherwise, current career listings on the Platform relate to positions connected to Turkish Law Blog itself.
12. Fees and Paid Services
Certain services may be free to access, while others may require payment, approval, or separately communicated commercial terms.
In particular, law firm profiles, publication opportunities, or related services may be subject to fees or commercial arrangements communicated outside the Platform, including by email or other direct communication. Fees may vary and may not be fixed or publicly listed on the Platform.
If TLB provides paid services to you, you agree to any additional commercial terms communicated by TLB in connection with those services.
13. Intellectual Property Rights
The Platform, including its overall design, layout, branding, software, functionality, selection, arrangement, compilation, editorial presentation, databases, original TLB-created text, graphics, logos, and other non-user-generated materials, is owned by or licensed to TLB and is protected by applicable intellectual property and unfair competition laws.
Except as expressly permitted in writing, you may not:
- copy, reproduce, republish, sell, license, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from Platform materials owned by TLB;
- remove copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices;
- use TLB names, logos, branding, or trade dress in a misleading manner; or
- imply sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation by TLB without authorization.
Users retain ownership of their own User Content, subject to the license granted to TLB under these Terms.
14. Limited Reuse of Public Content
Subject to applicable law and any rights belonging to users or third parties, limited referencing or quotation of publicly available content may be permitted where all of the following conditions are met:
- the use is lawful;
- the source is clearly attributed to Turkish Law Blog and/or the relevant author where appropriate;
- a clear link to the relevant source page is included where reasonably possible;
- the use is not misleading, defamatory, or taken out of context; and
- the use does not imply TLB endorsement.
Commercial republication, systematic copying, or branded reuse of Platform materials may require prior written permission from TLB.
15. Copyright and IP Complaints
If you believe that content on the Platform infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, you may send a notice to info@turkishlawblog.com.
Your notice should include sufficient detail for TLB to identify the material at issue, the basis of your claim, your contact details, and a statement that your complaint is made in good faith.
TLB may investigate complaints, request further information, temporarily remove or disable access to disputed content, notify the affected user, and take any action it reasonably considers appropriate. TLB may also suspend or terminate accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate.
16. Privacy and Data Handling
Your use of the Platform may involve the collection, use, storage, and processing of personal data by TLB. Where applicable, such handling is governed by TLB's Privacy Policy and any additional notices presented to you.
Public-facing profiles and content may be visible to the public and accessible to search engines and AI systems as described in these Terms.
17. Suspension, Removal, and Termination
TLB may, at any time and without liability, suspend, restrict, disable, unpublish, remove, or terminate access to any account, content, profile, listing, or service where TLB reasonably believes that these Terms have been violated or such action is necessary for security, integrity, ownership disputes, operational, editorial, legal, or compliance reasons.
You may also request closure of your account, subject to any verification, pending obligations, legal retention needs, dispute holds, or technical limitations.
18. Availability and Changes to the Platform
TLB may modify, update, suspend, discontinue, or remove any part of the Platform at any time, with or without notice.
TLB does not guarantee that the Platform will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any feature or content will remain available for any period of time.
19. Disclaimers
The Platform and all content and services made available through it are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TLB disclaims all representations and warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including any warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, security, and error-free operation.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TLB shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business opportunity, goodwill, reputation, data, or anticipated savings.
TLB's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Platform or these Terms shall not exceed the total amount, if any, that you actually paid to TLB in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
If you have paid no amount to TLB during that period, TLB's liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by mandatory law.
21. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TLB, its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, representatives, contractors, and service providers from and against any claims, demands, actions, proceedings, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to:
- your use of the Platform;
- your User Content;
- your profile, listing, or application materials;
- your breach of these Terms;
- your violation of any law or third-party right; or
- any dispute between you and another user or third party.
22. Notice Before Formal Proceedings
Before initiating formal legal proceedings relating to these Terms or the Platform, the complaining party should first provide written notice to the other party and allow at least 30 days for a good-faith effort to resolve the matter informally.
This clause does not prevent either party from seeking urgent interim relief where necessary.
23. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and any non-contractual disputes arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by the laws of Türkiye.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts and enforcement offices in Istanbul, Türkiye.
24. Changes to These Terms
TLB may update or revise these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice by posting the updated Terms on the Platform, updating the "Last updated" date, or using other reasonable means.
Your continued use of the Platform after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Platform.
25. Miscellaneous
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
TLB's failure to enforce any provision shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other right.
You may not assign rights or obligations under these Terms without TLB's prior written consent, except where mandatory law requires otherwise. TLB may assign these Terms, in whole or in part, in connection with a corporate reorganization, transfer of business, merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
These Terms, together with any additional terms expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and TLB regarding the Platform.
